Is Coldplay’s Viva La Vida about President Bush?

Viva La Vida is a alternative song by the band, Coldplay. What left

Coldplay fans puzzled is what the heck the song is about. If you look a little closer into the lyrics, you may be suprised.

I have listed SOME, not ALL, lyrics to Viva La Vida and decoded them to reveal the inner Bush of them.

I use to rule, the world, seas would rise when I gave the word.

Bush pretty much did rule America. When a crisis happened, he smiled and gave some cake, like hurricane Katrina.

Sweep the streets I used to own.

When Bush sent men off to war, and they returned with dead bodies. His job was to cherish them and have them remembered as heroes. As in, playing a bad move as sending them off to war, then sending them to a better place. sweeping the streets he used to own. Sweeping the Men he sent away to graves.

Listen as the crowd would sing, that the old king is dead, long live the king.

When Suddam was killed, it was like a holiday for America and Suddam’s slaves. The Dictatator had been killed, the slaves cheered. Long live Bush, they cheered.

And I discovered that my castles stand, upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand.

The chart above would be the castles, saying that the sea keeps washing them down, down down, until nothing of America would be left.

My missionary’s in a foreign field.

Well, your smart, you should be able to figure this out. Just Kidding, for you little people who read this, our President Bush sent our men out to war in a foreign place called Iraq. Foreign means a different place then America.

Once you go there was never, never a honest word, but that was when I ruled the world.

All you Bush-Hating penguins claim he lies. And some adults do, too. So, never a honest word. But that was when Bush was in office.

It was a wicked and wild wind, blew down the doors to let me in, shattered windows and the sound of drums, people couldn’t believe what I’ve become.

Hurricane Katrina. Bush went out of his way to make the people of Flordia a cake. People could not believe why he didn’t do anything else at first.

Revolutionaries wait for my head on a silver plate.

This is a no-brainer. TONS of countries are waiting for Bush to get out of office. So they are waiting for January 21, 2009, Bush gets out of office, and Obama or Mccain will be moving in.

I know Saint Peter won’t call my name.

This is the only lyric Coldplay revealed for us, from Martin, a member of the band.

Q Magazine asked Chris Martin about the line “I know Saint Peter won’t call my name” sung in “Viva la Vida”. Martin replied: “It’s about… You’re not on the list. I was a naughty boy. It’s always fascinated me that idea of finishing your life and then being analyzed on it. And it’s that runs through most religions. That is the most frightening thing you could possibly say to somebody. Eternal damnation.

So, could that possibly be the songs meaning? Maybe it’s about the french revoulition. Maybe it’s just a love song. Only Coldplay knows at this point.
